On July the 8th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Latvia staged a peaceful appeal at the Chinese Embassy to raise public awareness of the six years of cruel persecution against the practice in China.

Practitioners unfurled a banner which read “Stop Killing People!” Many passers-by and drivers slowed down to take a look. Many people accepted flyers from the practitioners. After hearing the facts about Falun Gong, they expressed their sympathy to the persecuted practitioners and hoped that this persecution can end as soon as possible.

On June the 29th, practitioners in Latvia staged a protest against the Chinese Communist regime’s brutal killing of Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong. Gao’s face was disfigured from electric baton shock torture in 2004. This human rights abuse case was widely reported throughout the international community and was listed as the first case in the “United Nations Reports on China’s Persecution of Falun Gong 2004.” However, regardless of the fact that it caused considerable concern to the international community, the Chinese Communist regime still escalated the torture against Gao Rongrong who was murdered at the age of thirty-seven.
