While the overseas media were widely reporting the Chinese Communist Party’ spies infiltrating into western countries, the Chinese Embassy in Frankfurt, Germany was open for visitors. I had wanted to go the Chinese Embassy in order to display some picture boards revealing the facts about the persecution in front of it so as to disclose the crimes they had committed. Soon after I arrived a young couple stopped and started looking at the pictures. After reading the articles exposing the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners currently taking place in China, the young man, with his heavy eyebrows raised high and his eyes wide open, simply asked: “Do you need any help or money?” I explained, “What I am doing has nothing to do with money or donations. I simply want to highlight the atrocities that the Chinese Communist Party has committed against those who practice Falun Gong, something which has been hidden from the people of China.”
Upon seeing that they were genuinely interested in what I had to say, I continued saying, “I too was taken away and abused by police in China.” “But how did you manage to escape?” asked the girl who was quietly stood by her boyfriend listening to my every word, her voice was soft and her big beautiful eyes were showed that she was deeply entrenched in what I had to say. I told her, “I couldn’t have survived without being rescued by the support of those living outside of China who had signed thousands of petitions for my release, nor would I have been released if it weren’t for the support of various governments and human rights organisations.
The girl had many questions and enquiries, such as: “What is Falun Gong?” “Why aren’t people allowed to practice it in China?” “Why did the policemen beat you?”…. I had never expected that though the girl looked beautiful, gentle and quiet, that her thoughts would be so careful, precise, and thorough. The young man was listening to me, whilst leaning slightly forward with his mouth slightly open and an expression of seriousness on his face.
Our conversation was so light and fluent like a light breeze flowing between hills winding, our conversation was filled with ease and so all the questions were settled naturally and light-heartedly. On seeing that they fully understood, I said to sum up, which was equal to saying good-by to them: “Thank you for your understanding.”
I had never expected that that the girl who had been fondling around in her handbag for over ten seconds, would take out a pen and ask, “What about my signature?”
“What signature?” I asked, feeling a little lost.
Pointing at the practitioners being tortured in a picture, the girl said in her soft voice: “I want to sign my name so that I can help to rescue them just as you were rescued.”
On hearing that, I felt very sorry for not having the petition ready earlier, feeling rather sad!
“I was wondering if you could write it yourselves and write what you wish,” I said.
The young couple began searching their bags and pockets for sometime and finally they found a piece of paper. The three of us were squatting, the girl put the piece of paper on her knees and was beginning to write carefully.
I was really surprised by their response and couldn’t help saying: “I really didn’t expect that I would meet you both, all I was thinking about was coming to the Chinese Embassy so as to give the public a chance to find out about the persecution. I didn’t think about anything else and did not expect to meet you both here.”
“Don’t you believe that there are still some kind-hearted people in the world? There is not only one good person but two,” said the young man with a great smile upon his face. The girl was listening and smiling with her white sparkling clean teeth showing.
After signing their names in lively and vigorous calligraphy, the young man handed over the piece of paper on which was written their names, time, place, and the main message was: “We are supporting Falun Gong and Human Rights,” followed by their signatures.
In a clear voice, the young man said to me: “I wish you greater, greater and even greater luck!” Every time he said “Greater” he was waving his right fist in the air. The girl was nodding with her clear smiling eyes.
Watching them walk away into such a radiant and enchanting sun, I thought to myself: Thank you, our beloved Master (respectfully referring to the founder of Falun Gong, Mr Li Hongzhi), for giving so many people with predestined relationships a chance to support Falun Gong. There are still many more such kindhearted people in the world waiting to show their support.
