On July 20th 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Edinburgh held an all-day appeal outside the Chinese Consulate. July 20th was the official starting date for the Chinese Communist Party’s campaign of terror and persecution against Falun Gong, six years earlier in 1999. All over the world, practitioners held commemorative activities calling for an end to the torture and the mental and physical abuse that have taken the lives of over 2,600 innocent practitioners.
After passers-by found about the crimes against humanity committed by the CCP they were shocked and indignant. One group of people shouted “Destroy the Communists” and drivers blew their horns in support of practitioners’ peaceful resilience in the face of suppression. Many people took leaflets that detailed the CCP’s genocide against Falun Gong practitioners.
