In April 2002, the Harbin Anti-Riot Squad and the Shuangcheng police joined forces to arrest four practitioners. I was one of those arrested. Ms. Bai Xiuhua, a practitioner who worked as a household registrar in the local police station, was persecuted to death on August 28th 2002. The following is an attempt to recapture the events of that time when she was force-fed at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp hospital.
At the beginning of August 2002, Ms. Bai was brought to the prison cell I was in. She couldn't function by herself at the time, so a couple of helpers supported her and put her in bed. The police officer handcuffed her left arm to the bed, pressed down her right arm and instructed a medical doctor to administer an intravenous drip and then force-fed her at the same time.
While the force-feeding was in progress, I saw the food administered through her nose spew out of her mouth. The police officer incessantly slapped her cheeks, yelled at her, and tormented her.
After this torture she was barely breathing so they called a medical doctor for a physical examination. The doctor said, "Ms. Bai's lung has been filled with water for some time." The hospital personnel knew that she was dying and that the police officer had brought her there to persecute her further.
I asked Ms. Bai how she had ended up at the Wanjia Labour Camp. She could talk only in a weak voice at the time. She uncovered her wrists and ankles to show the marks left from wearing handcuffs and shackles that were forced on her while she was in Qichu, from where she said she had been sent. She had refused food for over a month and a half at Qichu, and she had felt she was at the end of her rope, so she tried to escape by jumping from the upper floor. The fall broke her spine. The police officer at Qichu sent her to the Wanjia Labour Camp, which refused to accept her, citing her physical condition. The Qichu police asked Acheng police officers to take her back to Qichu, but instead they took her to the Wanjia Labour Camp hospital.
We were in the prison cell together for seven days. I was released after seven days, and she died three days later from the persecution.
(Case Information: Ms. Bai Xiuhua was 40 years old. She was a policewoman and acted as the household registrar at the police station in Jiaojie Town, Acheng City. She was discharged from her duties because she was a Falun Dafa practitioner. She was illegally arrested three times. She was again unlawfully arrested on July 8th 2002, and imprisoned at the Second Prison Centre of Acheng. She later was transferred to the Wanjia Labour Camp. She suffered brutal torture while imprisoned and died on August 28th.)
