On the 6th of August 2005, Russian Falun Dafa practitioners gathered in Moscow city centre, calling on the public to pay attention to and help stop the brutal persecution against the Falun Gong spiritual practice by the Chinese Communist Party.

This persecution has lasted for more than six years. No matter how the evil regime transforms their tactics, moving from a high-profile campaign of suppression to an underground persecution, the cruelty and madness of the persecution still does not change. Over the last few years, in order to let the world’s people know about the persecution and to clean out the venom spread by the CCP through Embassies and Consulates, Moscow practitioners have been raising awareness from one district to another. This way we could become established deep into the community and distribute material in the streets, near shops and at train stations, in order to let more citizens know about the truth.

In the city centre, when practitioners were just setting up posters and hanging banners, an official-looking man walked towards them. The practitioners talked with him. He said, “I have seen that the persecution is too brutal. Then he was the first person to sign the petition to oppose the persecution.

Two waitresses from a cafe across the square walked towards us and read the banners out loud: “Falun Gong”, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” and “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong in China”. Practitioners gave them leaflets and they were very happy to receive them.

Although the gathering didn’t last very long, people who came to sign the petition to oppose the persecution were in an endless stream.
