Ms. Ren Tingfang was in her 50's and a Falun Dafa practitioner from Dayushu Village near Wuwei City, Gansu Province. Her whole family practises Falun Dafa. She went to Beijing to appeal in December 2000 and was sent to a labour camp by the local police. She was released on December 24th 2001, and died on April 18th 2002.

Ms. Ren Tingfang's daughter Zhang Xiaohe was deprived of her right to go to college because she practised Falun Dafa. The Gulang County Police Department went to her home many times to try to force her to give up cultivation. Under severe pressure, she was forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being arrested at home from 2000 to 2002. After years of living under this persecution, by September of 2002 she weighed only around 80 lbs. A Falun Dafa practitioner took her home in October 2002.

Ms. Zhang Xiaohe did not have the energy to talk, but policemen from Wuwei City and Gulang County still forced her to answer their questions with a nod or shake of her head. Her physical condition worsened, and she died 20 days after returning home. She was only twenty-three when she passed away.
