Arrested four months ago by police, Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian from Changsha City, Hunan Province, is now facing an illegal court trial. Her husband and son, who are not Falun Gong practitioners, were sent to a labour camp a few days ago.

Ms. Xu Jingxian is 52 years old. She is a retired worker from Changsha Construction Company and lives in the Zhushan Yuan Kaifu area. After Jiang Zemin's regime illegally banned Falun Gong on July 20th 1999, Xu Jingxian remained steadfast in her practice of Falun Gong and exposed the persecution to many people. On appealing in Beijing in 2000, she was illegally detained. In 2002, during the government's Sixteenth Party Congress, she was arrested and taken to the Brainwashing Centre in Changsha City where she was forcibly subjected to brainwashing. Nonetheless, the whole time she was there she never gave in to the unjust demands to renounce Falun Dafa.

On April 7th 2005, Xu Jingxian's entire family was arrested by the police and taken to the area branch police department in Changsha City. On that day, the police waited for her son, Shen Xiaoming, who was on his way home from work. They then arrested him, took his house key, and used it to get in the house and arrest Ms. Xu. Ms. Xu's husband, Shen Hesen, was also arrested that day.

It is said that Shen Hesen and Shen Xiaoming have already been sent to Xingkaipu Labour Camp in Changsha City. They were then sentenced to one year and three months and one year and six months respectively. Shen Hesen is 58 years old. The son, Shen Xiaoming, is about 20 years old and is a programme designer. Neither of them practises Falun Gong, but they both believe that Falun Gong is good.

Xi Jongxian was detained in the Changsha City Detention Centre. This practitioner reported that the prison police locked and tightened her to a door board, and they would not release her even for meals; instead they let the prisoners force-feed her. The persecution is very bad there.

According to a report, Ms. Xu has already received the so-called "law suit documents" from Kaifu area Changsha Province, saying that on August 4th Kaifu area court will commence trial on her.

When the Xinghe police detention centre officials arrested Xu's whole family, they did many things that violated the law. For example, they made Xu's relative sign a detention document with a different date, (the day was April 13th 2005, but they forced the relative to sign for April 8th). The detention centre also violated the codes of criminal investigation procedure and some other related laws. After arresting Ms. Xu, they searched her house without her relatives present. In response to Xu's relatives pleas for help, a local police officer, Zhou Maohua, advised Xu's relative to look for someone they knew who was working in the Province's Public Security Department to get Shen Xiaoming out. He also introduced a person named Zhang to help the relative out. Zhang later asked the relative for 400 yuan (1) in the name of "socialising with the officials." Wong Yueping, the police officer who handled the case, also forced the relative to buy him cigarettes worth 600 yuan.
