On the evening of October 14th 2005, Gothenburg held its annual "Night of Culture". As part of the festivities, the “Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance” International Art Exhibition was held in Hauchia Church and drew the attention of a great number of people.

The paintings in the exhibition were created by a group of artists that practise Falun Gong. As well as heavenly scenes and beings, the paintings also depict the brutal persecution of Falun Gong initiated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Group after group of people visited the art exhibition one after another. Following the guides, they listened intently to the description of every painting. Some people remained in front of certain paintings for a long time.

One middle-aged man left satisfied after listening to the introductions carefully. A couple of hours later, he brought his friends to see the exhibition. This time, he acted as a guide himself.

Another man took a lot of material about the persecution of Falun Gong home so that he could tell his friends. Before he and his friends left, everyone took away a leaflet about Falun Gong. He said he would like to take it to his wife, who is teaching programmes on China in a university.

Several young men from England came to Gothenburg because their flight to Stockholm was cancelled and an agent recommended Gothenburg to them. They said, “Now I understand the reason why we came here. How wonderful your exhibition is.”

After visiting the art exhibition, some people asked practitioners where they could learn Falun Gong.
The Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance International Art Exhibition brought something wonderful and a little different to the Night of Culture in Gothenburg.
