On April 25th, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Brisbane held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate in downtown Brisbane, commemorating fellow practitioners who died in the Communist Party's persecution. The date was a national holiday, and many people passed the vigil site. The photo exhibition, the music to commemorate those who died, the practitioners' introduction, and the sight of the peaceful practitioners sitting among the candles attracted many passersby and aroused much kindness and support.

A mother and four children came by. They read the display boards and signed their names on the petition form. The mother said, "I can't imagine that they (the Chinese Communist Party) can be so cruel, cutting living people's organs out."

A group of people came by. When they saw that it was about Falun Gong, an older man in the group began to talk about Falun Gong to the others. A practitioner explained to them about the recently exposed organ-harvesting atrocity in Chinese forced labour camps. They had expressions of both disbelief and sympathy, and said, "It is horrible."

On July 20th, 1999, former Communist Party leader, Jiang Zemin, initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners have been jailed and tortured. The atrocities are continuing today and have even reached the extent of harvesting organs from living people in China's forced labour camps. But even after seven years of brutal persecution, Falun Dafa is still spreading worldwide. Now, practitioners all over the world are persisting with the principle of "Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance." They have overcome many hardships just to let people know that "Falun Dafa is good." We hope more people will learn the truth and help stop this senseless persecution.
