Mr. Wang Hongliang is from Liangjiashan Township, Shulan City. The Criminal Team of the Shulan City Public Security Bureau arrested Wang and detained him at the Nanshan Detention Centre in Shulan City for nine months. Later, they sentenced him to five years of imprisonment at the Tiebei Prison in Changchun City. The Tiebei Prison drew blood from all prisoners for blood exams during the latter half of 2004. The Gongzhuling Prison drew blood from all the detained Falun Dafa practitioners during the first half of 2005.

This is a scar left on Wang Hongliang's leg from the torture he suffered at the Shulan City Public Security Bureau when police interrogated him. The wound ulcerated and took six months to heal. This is the wound on Wang Hongliang's arm from being beaten by police from Shulan City who tried to arrest him.

On July 8th, 2001, police from the Shulan City Public Security Bureau arrested Wang and sent him to the Nanshan Detention Centre in Shulan City. At the detention centre, three police officers from the Criminal Team tortured him while interrogating him. Wang was handcuffed behind his back and they proceeded to kick and punch him in order to obtain information. Later, they beat him again. They tied him to a tiger bench1 so he couldn't move at all. Then they used a wooden stick to hit his legs. The wound on his leg ulcerated and took six months to heal. Now he has a big scar on his leg from the torture.

Later, he was detained at the detention centre for nine months without any legislative procedures, after that, he was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. On April 13th, 2002, he was sent to the Tiebei Prison in Changchun. At the Tiebei Prison, the police ordered four criminals to monitor Wang so he wasn't able to sleep.

In August and September of 2004, without any reason provided, all the prisoners in the Tiebei Prison were forced to have their blood drawn for exams. On March 30th, 2005, all the practitioners who refused to give up practising Falun Dafa were transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison. Twelve of them had their blood drawn as soon as they arrived. One month later, all the practitioners at the Gongzhuling Prison forcefully had their blood drawn, while none of the other prisoners had to have their blood drawn. Practitioner Xie Guichen was also imprisoned there. He went on a hunger strike for 107 days to protest the inhuman persecution.

The day when they were transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison, two practitioners were tortured and then locked in a very small cell. The police gave electric shocks to two other practitioners' faces, leaving them scarred. Other practitioners were often beaten or mistreated by male criminal inmates. He Jinguo is an instructor at the Prison Political Department at the Tiebei Prison. He often ordered inmates to beat Falun Dafa practitioners.

Practitioner Wang Hongliang was imprisoned for five years. Ten days after he was released, police officers Wang Jinfu, Li Zhiwei, Luo Baisong, along with two other police officers from Liangjiashan Township, Shulan City went to his home, trying to take him to a brainwashing class. Mr. Wang refused to budge, and then the police pushed him out the door and dragged him into the police car and took him to somewhere in Jishu. There was a building there and police detained many practitioners from Jiaohe and Shulan in that building. Later, Wang Hongliang managed to escape the brainwashing class.

Note

1. "Tiger Bench": Prisoners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead without movement for long periods of time.
