Finland: "Great Wall of Courage" Raises People's Awareness During Asia-Europe Meeting

When the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) was held on September 9-11th, 2006, in Finland's capital, Helsinki, Falun Gong practitioners from 13 countries in Europe and North America gathered there. Taking the opportunity that heads of state or governments from 36 countries in Asia and Europe and more than 2,000 media staff were converging, the practitioners formed a 'Great Wall of Courage' with banners and photos depicting the beauty of Falun Dafa and exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) inhumane persecution of Falun Gong along one side of Esplanade Park in Helsinki.

People sign the petition supporting Falun Gong practitioners
During these days, practitioners remained standing from morning to dusk, peacefully demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises to display the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa. With smiles on their faces, they handed out flyers to passersby, which exposed the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong that has persisted for seven years. 15,000 copies of flyers in Finnish language printed prior to the activity were all given out, and hundreds of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (an editorial published by The Epoch Times newspaper) in both Chinese and English were presented to people.

Kind-hearted people who have learned the true facts signed the petition to support Falun Gong practitioners' efforts to bring the persecution to an end.
