Two Practitioners in Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces Were Persecuted to Death

Ms. Wang Youqiong, 50 years old, was a practitioner living in Jiang'an County, Sichuan Province. She started practising Falun Dafa when she had late stage cancer of the nose in 1995. The cancer was cured without medication. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, she and fellow practitioners went out to explain the facts about Falun Dafa to people, but twice someone reported her to the police. Suffering continuous interference and harassment from the local 610 Office1, she passed away in September 2005.

Mr. He Ziqiang was a practitioner from Shaanxi Province who learned Falun Dafa in 1995. Prior to that his mental and physical health were quite poor as a result of suffering though several Chinese Communist Party movements. After he learned Falun Dafa, he became happy and healthy and looked like a different person. Since July 20th, 1999, however, local Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials often went to his home to harass or threaten him. Under this great pressure, Mr. He died in December 2004.

Additional Facts about the Persecution of Practitioner Liu Shaohua from Langfang City, Hebei Province

Mr. Liu Shaohua, 73 years old, was an employee of the Education Bureau in Langfang City, Hebei Province. He learned Falun Dafa in 1998, and his diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other illnesses all disappeared. After the persecution began the staff from his work place would go to his home to threaten or harass him, attempting to force him to write letters renouncing Falun Gong, especially during major holidays. In the spring of 2005, people from the local 610 Office told his work place that Liu Shaohua had been distributing leaflets exposing the persecution, so the staff from his work place went to his home to threaten him. In October of the same year, they went to his home again and said that he had been reported for meeting another practitioner. Liu Shaohua suffered threats and psychological persecution by these people until he died on November 12th, 2005.

Additional Facts about the Persecution of Practitioner Mr. Jin Chuanxiang from Tongcheng County, Hubei Province

Mr. Jin Chuanxiang, 54 years old, was laid-off from No. 1 Chinaware Factory of Tongcheng County, Hubei Province. He started practising Falun Gong in 1995 and was listed as a persecution target by the Tongcheng County Police Station since July 20th, 1999. During the so-called "sensitive periods" such as National Day, the times of the two congressional meetings, New Year's Day, or the Spring Festival, his home would be "illegally searched2" and he would be detained at the Tongcheng Detention Centre for at least a month. If there was a Communist Party's movement, the police would arrest him for no particular reason, although he had explained the facts about Falun Dafa to them many times. Under this constant threat, Mr. Jin struggled to survive by doing temporary construction work. He suffered physically and psychologically until he died in late 2000.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

2. Illegally arrested: Contrary to what former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, who initiated the persecution, and the Chinese Communist Party would like the world to believe, practising Falun Gong is NOT illegal in China. Although the Public Security Department issued an unconstitutional set of restraints on the practice at the onset of the persecution in 1999, no laws have been passed by the only legislative body in China, the People's Congress, banning Falun Gong or granting the police the authority to arrest Falun Gong practitioners for practising the exercises or distributing flyers. For a more complete discussion of the illegality of the persecution of Falun Gong, please refer to the article "The Ban on Falun Gong—A Dictator's Whim, Not the Rule of Law". (Variation: "illegally sentenced")
