Mr. Xu Zhiming was 56 years old. He was a peasant in Kongjia Village, in Laixi City, Shandong Province. After he started practising Falun Gong in 1996, all his diseases, including congenital tracheitis and long- bothering cholecystitic, disappeared, and he became very healthy. After the persecution started on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Xu travelled to Beijing and appealed for Falun Gong several times, but the local regime arrested, detained, and tortured him, and ransacked his home many times. One evening in 2003, while Mr. Xu was doing the Dafa exercises with another practitioner, personnel from the 610 Office1 and officers from the local police station broke into his home, arrested him, and detained him in for 28 days the Laixi City Prison, where he was tortured. They then sentenced him to two years of forced labour and didn't release him until December 2004. After that, personnel from the 610 Office often harassed him at home even though his health was deteriorating. In June 2006 he was diagnosed with late stage gastric cancer and died on the afternoon of August 24th, 2006.

Ms. Zou Cuihua was 72 years old. She was a peasant in Kongjia Village, Malianzhuang Township in Laixi City, Shandong Province. After she started practising Falun Gong in 1997, all her diseases disappeared. When the persecution started on July 20th, 1999, fearing the Chinese Communist regime's persecution, her family pressured her to give up the practice. She resumed the practise in 2001. In March 2003, while she was doing the exercises with other practitioners, personnel from the 610 Office and officers from the Malianzhuang Police Station broke into her home and took her to the police station. After a day and a night she walked out of detention. However, deceived and having their minds poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party, her children were firmly against her practising. They monitored her and coerced her to give it up. She died in November 2005.

Ms. Yang Wangfen was the former assistant at a Falun Gong practise site in Binchuan County, Yunan Province. Ever since July 20th, 1999, amidst the Chinese Communist Regime's ruthless persecution of Falun Gong, she endured great pressure from local evildoers and police officers. Personnel from the Communist Party and police department also frequently harassed her. In 2000 Ms. Yang was arrested, along with more than ten other practitioners. In the second half of 2000, Ms. Yang Wangfen died suddenly at home.

Mr. Wang Taishan was the former assistant at a Falun Gong practice site in Daying Township, Binchuan County in Yunnan Province. He suffered a rare disease prior to 1997 and could not take care of himself. Then a relative introduced him to Zhuan Falun2. He liked the book very much. When he finished reading it, his disease was gone. The relative could not leave the book with him, because they were scarce in that area. Mr. Wang said, "I would pay 10,000 yuan3 for one copy of that book if anyone can find it for me." After the persecution started on July 20th, 1999, police ransacked Mr. Wang's home and confiscated his book. They arrested and detained him for more than a month. Mr. Wang's old disease recurred and he died on Chinese New Year's eve in 2004.
