Seven Practitioners in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested Within Two Weeks

On the morning of October 6th, 2006, policeman Dong Lixin and others from the Chengfeng District Police Department arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tie Zhijie and placed him under the department's custody. Two days later, he was detained in the Longfeng Detention Centre. Mr. Tie has been on a hunger strike ever since. Recently, he was taken to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. Because his life was in danger from being tortured brutally, the camp refused to accept him. The police then took him to the Daqing City Detention Centre.

On October 19th, 2006, police from the Rang District Department arrested and ransacked the home of practitioner Yu (gender unknown, given name unknown). Practitioner Mr. Zhao Jie (employee of the Fourth Mine, Sixth Oil Collecting Plant) was taken from his work to his home. Police ransacked his house and arrested him and his wife Guan Fengxia. At the same time, police ransacked Ms. Zhao Benhong's home in the Xiyuan Neighbourhood of Rang District and arrested her.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Kan Xiujuan, in her 30s, was dismissed from her job under the persecution, and her family is in financial trouble. On October 20th, 2006, police from the criminal team of the Longgang District Department arrested her and detained her in the Daqing City Detention Centre. Ms. Kan went on a hunger strike to protest.

On October 20th, 2006, six police officers from the Honggang District department arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Dezhi at his workplace and ransacked his office. Mr. Wang refused to cooperate with the extortion or give his signature, and he has luckily escaped.
