Practitioners from Charlotte and Wilmington, North Carolina, Washington DC and South Carolina participated in the parade. It is their third time being invited to the event. The Christmas Parade in Raleigh is known to be one of the largest parades in the southeastern area, and also the largest Christmas Parade between New York and Atlanta. Local television stations carried a live broadcast of the grand parade.
A television station spent nearly two minutes introducing the Falun Dafa contingent to the audience. People learned that Falun Dafa is deeply rooted in traditional Chinese culture, and is able to relieve the pressure in daily life and lead to physical health and inner peace. Practitioners' graceful exercise demonstration, beautiful lotus flower dance, joyful waist drum performance and breath-taken beautiful costumes deeply impressed the parade commentator and the audience. The commentator stated emotionally, "Pressure relief is what everyone needs, especially in the holiday season, they (practitioners) look so peaceful!" The commentator also praised the beautiful costumes. An audience member that watched the TV broadcast told a practitioner, "The TV focused on your team for a long time."
