Ms. Sun Yuling, a practitioner from Duko Village, Fushan District, Yantai City, Shandong Province, was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp in December 2002. When she was released from the camp in August 2005, she had been so severely persecuted that she was emaciated and suffering from cancer. Four months later, she passed away. Her fellow villagers are all vocal in exclaiming that justice was not served: "Such a nice person died so unfairly! Those vile Communist Party villains have no human nature at all."

Ms. Wang Guiying, 42, from Mengyin County, Shandong Province, became very healthy and looked like she was renewed from top to bottom after she started practising Falun Gong in 1998. However, after July 20th, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began persecuting Falun Gong, she was frequently bothered by various government departments. In the spring of 2000 she was brought to a brainwashing centre in Mengyin County, where she was beaten with steel cables, verbally abused, insulted with filthy language, and extorted out of more than two thousand yuan1.

Early in 2001, she was imprisoned in the brainwashing centre of the county 610 Office2. While there she suffered from the freezing cold and was deprived of sleep and given insufficient amounts of food. She was also regularly beaten and yelled at. The villains even extorted about eight thousand yuan from her relatives. In a word, she was severely tortured both mentally and physically. While she was imprisoned, her husband was also imprisoned in Wang Village Forced Labour Camp in Zhoucun District, Zibo City. He has since been released and has returned home. However, Ms. Wang Guiying died on September 29th, 2006 due to the extreme torture.

Ms. Huang Xianghua, 50, from Baishi Village, Xinqiaoxiang, Dafu Town, Anhua County, Hunan Province, began practising Falun Gong in 1996. In April 2002, while she was explaining the facts about the persecution against Falun Gong, she was arrested and imprisoned in the Anhua County Detention Centre for three months. After she was released, it was learned that she had been brutally beaten. After she returned home she still kept practising Falun Gong. She was therefore frequently harassed and monitored by the vicious officers of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), causing severe mental injury. Finally she died in July 2003 from arteriosclerosis.

Mr. Huang Zishu, 60, from Banshan Village, Dongshanxiang, Dafu Town, Anhua County, Hunan Province, began practising Falun Gong in 1996. In February 2001, he was arrested and imprisoned in the Anhua County Brainwashing Centre, where he was forced to be so-called "transformed3." He was released in March 2001 but died five days later.

Note

1. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.

2. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

3. "Reform or Transform" Implementation of brainwashing and torture in order to force a practitioner to renounce Falun Gong. (Variations: "reform", "transform", "reformed", "reforming", "transformed", "transforming", and "transformation")
