Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Suqin from Huangchuan County, Henan Province was subjected to persecution many times because she persisted in her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. On January 24th, 2007, the Huangchuan County Court suddenly announced that she was sentenced to four years in prison without giving her a trial.
Ms. Yan is a laid-off worker from the Huangchuan County Textile Factory. Before practising Falun Dafa, she suffered from cataracts in both of her eyes, and was on the verge of losing her eyesight. After she began cultivating, all of the symptoms quickly disappeared.
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Dafa on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Yan has been subjected to persecution. At about 9:00 p.m. on November 27th, 2005, a group of police officers from the 610 Office1 and the National Security Division broke into her house and started to search it without discretion. They confiscated her television, DVD player, MP3 players, and other possessions. They arrested her and took her to the Hedian Detention Centre of Huangchuan County where they detained her. In the prison, a male guard with the last name of Wang kicked her and instructed criminal inmates to twist her arms and beat her. Furthermore, they put an over-20-pound shackle on her. She was released only after being tortured for over a month.
On June 7th, 2006, Ms. Yan was arrested by Division Head Chen Sheng (male), Deputy Head Xin Haijun (male), agent Zhang Qinghai from the National Security Division of the Police Department, and Director Liang Shikui (male) from the Bota Town Police Station while exposing the persecution of Falun Dafa in the Forest Farm, Bota Town, Huangchuan County. She was detained for seven months in the Hedian Detention Centre in Huangchuan County.
On January 24th, 2007, the Huangchuan County Court suddenly issued a verdict sentencing Ms. Yan Suqin to four years in prison without holding a public hearing or notifying her family members.
