Because of being steadfast in their belief, practitioners Ms. Feng Xilan and her sister, Ms. Feng Xisong, have been persecuted in Rushan City, Shandong Province. Feng Xilan was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment. She was released in early April 2007 when her life was in danger due to torture. Feng Xisong was arrested by the Rushan State Security Group in mid-April and was sentenced of two years in a forced labour camp.

While she was detained by the Rushan State Security Group, Feng Xilan was not allowed to sit down or sleep for more than ten days, and was also subjected to brainwashing. Studying the Falun Dafa books or doing the exercises was not permitted at the detention centre, and her health became poor. In February 2007, she was sent to Shandong Provincial Women's Prison where she was diagnosed with a tumour in her uterus. The prison then sent her back to the Rushan Detention Centre, where her health declined.

During that time, her older sister, Feng Xisong, went to the detention centre, the court, the Political and Legal Committee and other places to tell people, who had been misled by the government propaganda, the facts about Falun Dafa and expose the persecution, hoping to get Xilan released. The police did not release her until her life was in danger in early April. In mid April, Wang Jinlu and others from Rushan State Security then arrested Xisong and sentenced her to two years of forced labour.

After being home for almost a month, Feng Xilan has still not regained her health. She has symptoms of ill health in her stomach, lower back, and legs.

Feng Xilan was also persecuted financially. When she was detained, her home was searched by the Rushan State Security Group. The authorities have refused to return her belongings.
