Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiumei, 53 years old, lives in the Xinshi District, Baoding City, Hebei Province. She was arrested on March 7th, 2007, and taken to Baoding Labour Camp on March 8th, 2007, to be held for one year.
She was handcuffed for one day on March 9th for doing the Falun Gong exercises. Later on she was handcuffed again for a long time because she refused to wear a prisoner's uniform and refused to be photographed as a criminal. Her wrists bled and ulcerated from long-term chaffing from the cuffs. Inmates Zhang Xinyi and Zang Wantong savagely beat her under instruction from the guards.
The guards also used various methods and tortures on her while she was isolated from others. They do not let her talk to anyone and try to shirk responsibility for persecuting her.
