The recent exposure of the illegal brick kiln in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, in which over a thousand school-aged children were forced to work as slaves, has shocked the media, China and the whole world. Even high-level Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials like Hu and Wen have commented on it. I strongly condemn the crimes committed by the heartless owners who colluded with local CCP officials.

The Hedong Brickyard of Yinchuan Prison in Ningxia Province is a dark den for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Despite the similarities between the two illegal schemes, there are differences.

Labourers are abducted and forced to work at both brickyards.

Roughly a thousand innocent children between the ages of eight and fifteen were held at the illegal brick kiln in Hongtong County. Hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners between the ages of ten and eighty have been thrown into the prisons by the CCP. Since May 2001 Falun Gong practitioners Wang Yuzhu, Luan Ning, Wang Desheng, Lu Xiangdong, Jiang Tao, and Li Zhining have been persecuted at the Hedong Brickyard at Yonchuan Prison, in Ningxia Province.

Traders in human beings provided the slave labourers to the illegal brick kiln, while the Falun Gong practitioners at the Hedong Brickyard were arrested by the CCP regime.

While some of the kids at the brick kiln were held there for as long as seven years, the illegal arrests of Falun Gong practitioners have been ongoing for eight years.

The slave labourers at the Hongtong brick kiln were forced to work for more than ten hours per day. After the Falun Gong practitioners at the Hedong Brickyard finished work they were tortured with electric batons, forced to stand with their heads against the wall, tied up with ropes, and beaten. They were pressured to write a guarantee statement and give up their beliefs. Officers Li Youxin, Yue Huaining and Peng Jianxin enjoyed beating practitioners, and they were rewarded for their brutality.

The overseers at the brick kiln made money by pocketing a portion from the slave labourers' food. The food was nauseating at the brickyard. In the darkness of night after work prisoners were covered with brick dust, and only their eyes were visible. They ate their dinners without washing their faces. The so-called noodles they were fed were made of paste. After dinner someone said, "I don't know how many flies I've eaten today," to which another replied, "There aren't that many in my bowl today, I only found seven." Falun Gong practitioners were often confined to solitary cells and given only a piece of steamed bread.

The brick cart weighed more than five hundred kilogrammes (1,100 lbs.), "You have to run to move the loaded cart and fly with empty cart." The same slogan was used in both places, with the only difference being the kids in the illegal brick kiln didn't torture each other, while at the brickyard the worst prisoners tortured Falun Gong practitioners by beating and abusing them. Officer Yue Huaining gave prisoner Zhu Yongfeng free reign to hit and abuse Falun Gong practitioners, and he wasn't required to work at all.

The world was shocked by the news of the illegal brick kiln in Shanxi, while the evilness of the Ningxia Prison brickyard is still covered up.

With peoples' righteous opposition of the evil deeds committed by the brick kiln owners, overseers, and local officials, the illegal operation collapsed, and the kidnapped children were set free, but the Hedong Brickyard is controlled by the evil CCP, and is still persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
