Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Liaohe Oil Field in Liaoning Province

According to incomplete statistics, since the persecution began in July 1999, Liaohe Oil Field 610 Office¹ agents Yu Qingshan, Guo Zhenyu, Wei Guobao, He Wenjie, Wang Youshan, Kuang Yemao, He Yu and others have been colluding with police stations, detention centres, labour camps, the Procuratorate, courts, all levels of Party committees, and Politics and Judiciary Committee members to persecute Falun Gong. The evil deeds they have committed are countless. Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted and families are broken up and separated. The number of Falun Gong practitioners who became destitute and homeless due to the persecution are too many to count.

Some Cases of Falun Gong Practitioners Who Died as a Result of Persecution

Mr. Xin Minduo, 33, was a technician at the Liaohe Oil Field, and was the backbone of the operational technology department. Because of his belief in Falun Gong, he was sentenced by the Liaohe Public Security Bureau to 3 years of forced labour in Panjin Forced Labour Camp. On August 3rd, 2005, Mr. Xin was arrested by police officers Xu Hao, Huang Haiou and others from Panjin Public Security Sub-bureau. Xinglongtai District Court in Panjin City sentenced him to 13 years in prison, and locked him up in Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou. On the night of September 1st, 2006, Mr. Xin died as a result of torture. His body was cremated by Nanshan Prison authorities on the morning of September 3rd.

Mr. Liu Dejun, 51, was a retired worker from the Xinglongtai Pump Guest House at the Liaohe Oil Field in Panjin City. He lived in the Xingyou dormitory area of Liaohe Oil Field in Xinglongtai District. He was sentenced to one year of forced labour by the Liaohe Public Security Bureau in 2001, and arrested again by the National Security Unit of Panjin City in late May 2003. After being detained for over one month, this healthy and strong man died as a result of torture. The units directly responsible include Panjin Forced Labour Camp, Panjin City Detention Centre and Liaohe Oil Field 610 Office (agent Wang Youshan). It is said that Wang Youshan was very upset with Mr. Liu, who sued him for his part in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, so he colluded with officers in Panjin to kill Mr. Liu and eliminate a potential informant.

Ms. Liu Wenping, 41, lived in Xinglongtai District and was a staff member of the Liaohe Oil Field Water Supply Company. She was sentenced to 2 years of forced labour in 2000 and was detained at Panjin Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Liu suffered a mental collapse as a result of torture and jumped off a building and died. The details of her death are still unknown. Panjin Forced Labour Camp was directly responsible for her death.

Practitioners Who Became Disabled or Suffered Mental Collapse Due to Persecution

Ms. Dai Fengzhen, 41, was a technician in Liaohe Oil Field subsidiary Jinzhou Oil Extraction Factory. She became disabled as a result of torture.

Mr. Guo Yulong, over 40 and an employee of Liaohe Oil Field, was a section chief of Ciyutuo Oil Extraction Factory. He was detained at Panjin Forced Labour Camp for nearly four years, and dismissed from work. Later, he was sent to Shenxin Forced Labour Camp for one year, and became blind in one eye from torture during that period.

Mr. Gao Dong, over 40, was an engineer for Zhenxing Company at the Liaohe Oil Field. His mind is often unclear due to the physical and mental torture he suffered at Panjin Forced Labour Camp, Benxi Forced Labour Camp, and the Fushun Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Centre, and from being injected with drugs at a mental hospital.

Ms. Qu Jiaying, over 30, was an employee at the Gaosheng Oil Extraction Factory at Liaohe Oil Field. She was arrested for a second time and became mentally disordered for a long time during her detention at Panjin Forced Labour Camp.

In August 2005, not long after being taken to Shenyang Prison, Ms. Yang Lixin became absent-minded and lost her memory, possibly as a result of being drugged. Ms. Yang is now being secretly detained in the kitchen at Shenyang Prison.

Ms. Zhang Zhehui, over 20, worked at the Liaohe Oil Field Hospital. In 2001, she suffered a mental collapse and lost the capability to take care of herself due to the persecution she suffered while she was detained at Panjin Forced Labour Camp.

Liaohe Oil Field Has Detained Over 1,600 Practitioners

Approximately 6,000 people have been detained in Panjin Forced Labour Camp. It is difficult to count the number of detainees, but many people have been detained multiple times since July 20th, 1999. Some did not receive a detention notice, some have been held for as long as one month to over a year. The majority were detained secretly. Many have also been detained and sentenced to forced labour in other cities. The number of people is too large to be listed one by one, but from our collective memory, we could list 1,000 people who have been detained.

At least ten people were taken from their workplaces; some resumed work after being fired, but their bonuses and subsidies are all taken away. Over 25 people were fired and have not resumed work. At Liaohe Oil Field, they include:

Mr. Zhang Lianke, Liaohe Oil Field No. 1 Senior High School teacher, only resumed work after December 2003
Mr. Yu Jingzhu, Liaohe Oil Field Pipes Station technician, resumed work in September 2001
Mr. Liu Hongpu, Liaohe Oil Field Well Recording Company backbone technician, resumed work after autumn 2001
