Ms. Cui Xinxiang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, went to Beijing seven times to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She was detained 13 times and sentenced to forced labour twice. On July 11th, 2007, Ms. Cui passed away at the age of 54.

Ms. Cui was an employee at the Zhangjiakou City Power Supply Company. She started practising Falun Dafa in 1995. On July 20th,1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began it's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and Ms. Cui repeatedly went to Beijing to appeal. From her peaceful activity, police from the Wuyi Road Police Station were tipped off that she was a Falun Gong practitioner and subsequently searched her home and arrested her many times, resulting in her detainment at the forced labour camp twice. In September 2000, during one of the searches, police officers seized all Falun Gong books. They also took 2,000 yuan1 in cash from one of her drawers. When she was taken to the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Baoding City, the head of the labour camp initially refused to admit her. However, the police officers used underhanded means and called in some favours from the labour camp official and ultimately left Ms. Cui there.

After she was released from the labour camp, Ms. Cui went out to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution in different towns, and was arrested on two different occasions. She was taken back and detained at the Wuyi Road Police Station. Furthermore, in February 2004, she was detained at the Shalingzi Brainwashing Centre in Zhangjiakou City.

To protest the persecution while in prison, Ms. Cui held hunger strikes many times. However, at a certain point, her body shut down and she passed away on July 11th, 2007.

Deng Jianming (male), the director of the Wuyi Road Police Station, Li Yingbin (male), a police officer, Wang Shutian (male), the CCP secretary of Wuyi Road Office, Chang Xiaoqing (male), the deputy secretary, and Zhang Jun (male), the director of the Wuyi Road Office, closely followed Jiang Zemin [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] and the 610 Office2 by brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners under their jurisdiction. They committed the crimes of searching homes without a warrant, imposing fines, surveillance, extortion, beating, hanging up practitioners by handcuffs, interrogating practitioners through torture, taking them into custody, and sending them to forced labour camps, brainwashing centres or prison.

Note

2. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
