On July 20th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Xu Hui and her son, Mr. Cai Chao, from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, went to Beijing together to unfurl banners on Tiananmen Square. They were arrested by officers from the Tiananmen Police Department and are being detained in the Dongcheng District Detention Centre. The banners they held up read: "Heaven Will Destroy the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)" and "Stop the CCP's Atrocity of Harvesting Living Falun Gong Practitioners' Organs!"

Their family tried to discover their whereabouts and learned that the two hadn't told the police their names. The Dongcheng District Detention Centre refused to allow the family to visit and only provided a photo for the family to identify them.

Files and mobile phone recordings show that both the mother and son were interrogated. In the photo, Ms. Xu's face was very red, as if she had been beaten. Because Mr. Cai Chao's photo was too blurry, the guards let his family look at him from a dozen yards away. His family still could not see him clearly and tried to walk closer, but they were blocked by armed guards and not allowed to talk to him.

After the identification, the guards did not disclose any details and only allowed the family to leave money and wait at home for further notice.

The guard who met with the family is surnamed Cao (gender unknown, did not wear ID tag). The family asked lots of question and the guards seemed to know nothing about the mother and son.
