On August 25th 2007, Falun Gong practitioners in Switzerland went to a renowned shopping avenue in Zurich again to hold an information day. They exposed to the passers-by the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist regime that has lasted over eight years.

Tourists from Italy, France, Japan and many other countries around the world could all find leaflets in their own native languages at the information stand. Depicted on the various display boards, people could see the spread of Falun Gong in over eighty countries around the world and the bloody persecution by the Chinese Communist regime against Falun Gong practitioners who believe in “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance”.

Over the table for people to sign a petition against the persecution, practitioners specially erected a black banner with horrible scenes of living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs being harvested. It read: “Falun Gong practitioners organs are being harvested in China. Falun Gong practitioners’ bodies are cremated to destroy evidence after their organs are harvested while still living.”

“Torture and even slaughter violate human nature”

Mata is a lady from Croatia. She now lives in Switzerland. She asked practitioners in great detail why Falun Gong has been persecuted and the spread of Falun Gong before the persecution. She signed the petition calling for the end to the persecution. She explained her reason for signing the petition, “I feel strongly that torture and even slaughter violate human nature. We have to uphold the moral standard as humans.”

She hadn’t heard of Falun Gong before. After listening to practitioners, she learned about the Chinese Communist regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. She said, “This persecution is immoral. This is a behaviour seriously violating human rights. Everyone has the right to live freely, respect each other, support each other and help each other.”

She also learned about the atrocity of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist regime. She said, “This frightens me deeply. This should not be allowed to occur.” She hoped that Chinese people could openly make this information available to the public so that people can open their minds and have more sincerity while living together.

“The Persecution is an abuse of human rights”

Two teenage girls signed the petition calling for an end to the Chinese Communist regime’s organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. When asked why they signed the petition, one of them, Barbara, told the reporter, “I feel that such persecution is not fair. Everyone human being has human rights. This is an abuse of human rights.”

Barbara learned about Falun Gong when she saw in Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners’ protesting against the persecution. Talking about the persecution, Barbara thought: “This is not justice. People should have the right to choose their belief and how to live their lives. This persecution is illegal.”

She said finally: “Let people to live according to their own will. Let people have more freedom.”

“Chinese people all can start to think by themselves.”

Forian and his friends carefully read the photos and illustrations about the persecution suffered by Falun Gong practitioners over eight years. They then signed the petition calling for the end to the persecution. In his high school time, Forian learned about Falun Gong and the persecution in a lesson about China. He said, “Falun Gong is good. I think by doing such peaceful exercises, it would help people mentally. It is very good.”

“There is no freedom of speech in China. I think it is a terrible thing to persecute such peaceful people. I think it is more terrible that in today’s modern society, freedom of speech is still forbidden. I feel especially sad that because of economic benefits, all other countries become extremely tolerant of the Chinese Communist regime. If China was not such a large market, I think other western countries would not have been so tolerant to the regime. I think it is really terrible. Merely because of money, they don’t come forward to end this persecution.”

He hoped that “all Chinese people can start to think by themselves instead of just following orders from the authority. They should truly start to think independently.”
