Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
The Death of Liu Gaoming, the Original Director of the Guangmeishan Railway Detention Centre
Liu Gaoming (male), 60, was the first appointed director of the Guangmeishan Railway Detention Centre. During his term as the director, he instructed guards and inmates to mistreat the practitioners who were illegally detained there. He even mistreated practitioners himself, and slandered and cursed Falun Dafa and the founder of the practice Mr. Li Hongzhi. He also circulated materials slandering Falun Dafa to police officer Xu Zhiping (male) in the First Division of the Huizhou Railway Police Department, provoking the mistreatment of practitioners.
His illnesses worsened. He still did not regret his wrongdoings, even though in his situation living was worse than dying. He finally died of diabetes in 2006.
A police officer who mistreated Falun Dafa practitioners under his command also received karmic retribution when he fell from a motorcycle, splitting open his head and nearly losing his life. After his recovery, he awakened to his wrongdoings and chose to leave the detention centre where Falun Dafa practitioner were mistreated. In fact, he left the police force entirely. He now lives a very fulfilling life.
Former Director of the Public Health Department of Linyi City in Shandong Province Receives Karmic Retribution for Mistreating Falun Dafa Practitioners
Ma Zili (male), 70, was a director of the Public Health Department of Linyi City, Shandong Province. During his term there, he actively followed the then current head of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, and his regime in mistreating practitioners. He savagely beat practitioners who were working in the public health department. He set up private court trials, and illegally detained, arrested and beat Falun Dafa practitioners. He also fined practitioners large amounts of cash, forcing them to hand over 300 yuan every day. He hired criminals to violently torture practitioners in their paramilitary training in Luozhuang District, Linyi City. Practitioners Ms. Sun Yunjuan from the Chest Hospital and Ms. Li Xiumei from the Central Blood Bank were tortured and nearly died by the Gang of Ma Zili and the 'gestapo like' 610 Office. They were released after their lives were at risk. Practitioner Ms. Liu Benhua, a doctor temporarily on loan from the Cancer Hospital, was tortured by Ma Zili and the "610 Office," and was forced to quit her job. She made her living doing miscellaneous jobs. Her family members were also implicated and mistreated.
In August of 2007, Ma Zili was arrested by the Yishui County Police Department for his corrupt behaviour. The arrest was said to be very embarrassing. He was handcuffed at his home by the police from Yishui County Police Department. Because Ma Zili had been the director for a long period of time and had influence over a lot of people, he was relocated to the Pingyi County Detention Centre in Linyi City. Over 2 million yuan that he had extorted was found in his home. The investigation of this case is still on-going.
