Ms. Shi Jinqin is a former employee of the Dongfeng Department Store in Fucheng District, Mianyang City in Sichuan Province. She died on March 31st, 2007 as a result of the persecution she suffered for being a Falun Gong practitioner. She was only 57 years old.
Before practising Falun Dafa, Ms. Shi had to take medicine all year round to treat her many illnesses. She recovered soon after starting to practise Falun Dafa in 1997, and her body felt light and free from illness. Ms. Shi firmly cultivated in Falun Dafa.
After the persecution began, Ms. Shi Jinqin went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 2000. She was arrested on Tiananmen Square and detained in the Mianyang City Detention Centre.
Because Ms. Shi refused to give up Falun Dafa, the police from Mianyang City detained her twice and sentenced her to 18 months of forced labour, but the Nanmusi Labour Camp rejected her due to her poor physical condition.
On September 3rd, 2003, Ms. Shi was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution opposite the Huayuanliudui Farmer's Market in Fucheng District when she was arrested by police. She shouted "Falun Dafa is great!" and "Falun Dafa is righteous!" as she was being arrested.
Ms. Shi Jinqin was detained in the Mianyang City Detention Centre again, and her home was ransacked. The Fucheng District Court sentenced her to three years in prison. She was taken to the Sixteenth Ward of the Longquanyi Women's Prison in Chengdu City. There were more than forty practitioners detained and cruelly mistreated there.
Ms. Shi Jinqin was released on November 23rd, 2006. Three days before she was released, she suddenly felt very weak and could not walk or talk. She became paralysed within ten days. She died on March 31st, 2007.
