Ethiopia: Promoting Falun Dafa at Ethiopian Millennium Ceremony

Tebeb-Ethiopia is a relief organisation for poor people in Ethiopia. On September 8th, 2007, three days before the Ethiopian Millennium, (1) local Falun Gong practitioners were invited to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises in a ceremony for newly trained project management staffers of Tebeb-Ethiopia. The ceremony took place at Infonet University in Addis Abeba.

At around 11:30 a.m., Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises on a stage in a large hall full of people who welcomed the practitioners with warm applause. To the music "Pudu", several practitioners demonstrated the five exercises, while one practitioner beside briefly explained them.

A banner that read "Wishing Ethiopian and African People Good Fortune in the New Year, Falun Dafa is Good." was hung on the stage.

The organiser expressed appreciation for the practitioners' participation and encouraged people to follow the "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" principles of Falun Dafa. A senior citizen stepped forward to thank the practitioners for coming and supporting this event. The audience agreed with warm applause.

The African people have waited for Falun Dafa for a long time, and they realised it is important to learn about Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution in China.

(1) Ethiopia has its own calendar, so it celebrates the 2nd millennium 8 years later than the rest of the world.
