Falun Gong practitioners expressed that the purpose of forming characters and images is to express their gratitude to Master Li Hongzhi and encourage fellow practitioners. Also, practitioners hoped to raise awareness about the persecution by forming the characters.
Falun Dafa was introduced to Taiwan in April 1995. So far, there are almost 1000 exercise sites in 300 towns in Taiwan. Practitioners come from all walks of life, including college professors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, government officers, military soldiers, businessmen, students, farmers and housewives.
While Falun Gong has been persecuted in mainland China since 1999, it has spread very quickly in Taiwan. In every corner of Taiwan, there are people practicing Falun Gong. Falun Gong is also strongly supported by every level of government and society.
