On May 31st, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners held a day of activities to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong at rue de l’hopital in the centre of Neuchatel in Switzerland. Situated near the largest lake in Switzerland, lac de Neuchatel, the northern city of Neuchatel is a city reminiscent of medieval times.

On May 31st, Falun Gong practitioners set up a stand in the city centre to expose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) almost nine years of brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Many passer-bys accepted truth material. Having read the exhibits that exposed innocent Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted by the CCP, some inquired whether signatures were needed for support. Having learned about the CCP’s atrocities against a group of harmless practitioners many signed their names without hesitation to support justice.

A soldier was very interested in Falun Gong. Having heard of the ban against the practice long ago, he did not understand why. Having learned the truth, he said to practitioners, “You should come here more often so more people can know about the truth.”

A student from China walked up to the stand to find out what was going on. In the beginning she repeated the CCP’s slander of Falun Gong. Practitioner Gisele explained, “That is not true. Falun Gong does not prevent people from taking medicine or going to the hospital. We are not being political either. The CCP is illegally persecuting Falun Gong. If it does not crack down on the practice, we do not need to come out to clarify the truth. How is this being political? Think about it, if the persecution happened in Switzerland, instead of China, what would practitioners in China do?” Later the student admitted, “Indeed, the Chinese government has been rather bad for a long time.”
