August 27th is Indonesian Independence Day. The Tanjung Pinang city government held a parade to celebrate on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008.
Divine Land Marching Bands from Malaysia and Singapore were established not long ago, and the Indonesian practitioners invited the two bands to participate in this event. When the Divine Land Marching Band arrived at the event, there was a sudden downpour, but the practitioners didn't drop out of the parade.
The Divine Land Marching Band marched and performed on the busy streets. The parade ended at the seashore, where the band performed.
On August 24th, the Divine Land Marching Band arrived on Batam Island to participate in a march hosted by the Batam Falun Dafa Association. After the march, the band performed at a large shopping centre downtown.
This was the first time for the Divine Land Marching Band to perform in Tanjung Pinang and Batam Island, and many local people were eager to watch and listen.
