Mr. Jia Zhijun, a 41-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Heilongjiang Province, lives at the Baishan Forestry Centre in Jinshantun District, Yichun City. In May 2002, Mr. Jia's mother was arrested at the Jinshantun District Bus Station by police. After Mr. Jia heard about this, he was compelled to leave home for a month or two. In July 2002, he was arrested by Ji Cheng from Fenggou Police Station and policeman Si Zhiguang from Baishan.

At Fenggou Police Station, police coerced a confession from Mr. Jia through torture. They forced him to semi-squat and raise both hands like "riding a motorcycle" for painfully long periods. Policeman Wang Shoumin used mop handles to beat his hands and the chief of Fenggou Police Station, Min Changchun, beat him with a bamboo brush handle. On the third floor of Jinshantun Police Station, Mr. Jia was forced to offer a confession through torture. Policemen Kang Kai and Qi You tied up Mr. Jia with rope and then exerted all their strength to step on his hands after they were handcuffed. Generally, the wrist will be broken if it is stepped on in such a way. The police tied both his hands behind his back, hung him up by his hands and beat him. It is said that if such torture lasts one to two minutes, it will be very painful and hard to endure. They took him down, hung him up again and took him down again. They tortured him like this repeatedly. Many Falun Gong practitioners in Jinshantun District suffered from this torture. Mr. Qin Yueming and Mr. Zhu Chengxin were persecuted even more seriously.

The next day, when they were about to torture Mr. Jia again, he jumped down from the third floor of the police station building to escape. He fell immediately unconscious. When he woke up, many people were surrounding him. The police drove away the onlookers. Mr. Jia's arm was broken and he couldn't lift it. The police and the 610 Office1 agents sent Mr. Jia to Yichun Hospital to have his arm operated on. After leaving the hospital, Mr. Jia was held in the Jinshantun Prison for two days. Mr. Jia suffered from very serious pain and his arm was broken and swollen.

Mr. Jia was imprisoned for 100 days. After 80 days in prison, Mr. Jia began a hunger strike. Ten days later, the police thought he was on the verge of death and feared that he would die in the prison. They extorted 3,000 yuan2 from his wife. His wife was extremely distressed when she saw that he had been tortured like this. She carried him on her back to leave the prison.

Mr. Jia studied the Falun Gong teachings and practised the exercises. When he was just a little bit better, although he couldn't turn or raise his arm, Baishan policeman Si Zhiguang and Baishan company official Zhao Yuwen deceived Mr. Jia into going to the 610 Office, and then sent him to Yichun Brainwashing Centre to be persecuted.

After one month, Mr. Jia nobly walked out of the Brainwashing Centre. To avoid further persecution, he and his wife left home and are now homeless and destitute. Police are still asking everywhere for Mr. Zhi.

Mr. Jia still cannot turn or raise his right arm. When he washes his face, he can't use both hands. Mr. Jia was persecuted and as a result his right arm is crippled and he can't return home. He is still pursued by the police. Mr. Jia's story is one of many thousands of similar cases in China.

We request all kind hearted and righteous people to do what you can to help end the extremely tragic persecution occurring in China as soon as possible.
