On October 14th, 1999, Mr. Jin Junjie went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, was arrested and taken back to Changchun City, and sentenced to one year of forced labour. He was tortured in the Fenjin Forced Labour Camp. "Riding on a wooden horse" was a torture method used at the camp and named by the camp guards. Practitioners were forced to sit on a six foot long, two inches wide, three foot high bench. Practitioners were seated close to the other. This torture technique is very painful, and causes the buttocks to fester.
Mr. Jin'a forced labour term was extended by seven months, and he was transferred to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in March 2001. Guards twisted metal wires together to make a finger thick sized whip. Mr. Jin was forced to lie on his stomach and he was whipped with the wire from head to toe. Prisoners would kick his stomach before he ate causing him to vomit, and he was then unable to eat. Mr. Jin was emaciated, weighing less than 100 pounds. Starting on May 18th, 2001, Guards in the Second Ward ordered prisoner Li Fuchen to beat Mr. Jin with a rattan cane. His hands and feet became swollen and bruised.
Mr. Jin was tortured to the point that he could not go to the dining hall to eat, or get out of bed. The guards in the second ward were afraid that he might die, so they reported his situation to the Camp Administration, and he was released. His mother took him home by carrying him on her back in the summer of 2001.
In September 2001, Mr. Jin was once again arrested from his home, and detained at the Longjing Detention Centre for 15 days. He was sentenced to two years of forced labour, at the Yanji Prefecture Forced Labour Camp. Two or three months later, he was transferred to the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp located in Jiutai City, where he was imprisoned for two years and eight months. He was inhumanly tortured by the method of being locked in the small cell2 for a long time.
During the extended detention period, guards attempted to enforce brainwashing, and to have him fingerprinted. He went on hunger strike to protest, and was then tortured with force-feeding. The Camp doctor, Wang, bound his four limbs, and Mr. Jin was force-fed with highly concentrated salt water. At the time of this release Mr. Jin was handcuffed and his head was soiled in blood.
By the summer of 2007, Mr. Jin was suffering from congestion, shortness of breath, being too thin and he vomited blood. Doctors diagnosed him with tuberculosis. He died on December 13th, 2008.
