At 2:30 p.m. on February 11th, police agent Pi Xiaoming from Yuegong Police Station of Tumen City, Jilin Province broke into Ms. Li Xiulan's home. When he found a calendar with the phrases "Falun Gong is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!," he immediately called for back up. Three police cars arrived with seven to eight officers including officer Quan Yongzhe from the Domestic Security Division.
The police ransacked her home without a warrant. They took the calendar, Falun Gong books, materials, two computers and forced Ms. Li, her college age son, and a visitor into the police car. They were taken to the Yuegong Police Station. Her son and his guest were released that night, but Ms. Li's whereabouts remain unknown.
Ms. Li's husband passed away in 2008 due to illness. The entire family's financial support became Ms. Li's responsibility. She is almost 50 years old. Now that she has been arrested, it's extremely difficult for her son to live and study. On the second day of her arrest, her son went to the police station to ask for his mother's release and his computer for school. The police said that his mother had "problems" and refused to release her. They tried to send him away but detained him again. The police had suspected him of damaging the station's front gate. They wanted to detain him for fifteen days.
Ms. Li's family members and friends went to the Yuegong Police Station to demand her release but the police refused responsibility.
