Practitioner Mr. Liu Yujian

After hearing Mr. Liu was persecuted again, his sick mother was very worried, and so was the rest of his family. Mr. Liu has been married for twelve years, but for the past ten years since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong, he has not been able to spend much time with his wife.

Mr. Liu Yujian, 40, born in Xinjiang Province, has been cultivating Falun Gong for more than ten years. In the past ten years, Mr. Liu was persecuted by the CCP twice. His job was taken away twice. He and his wife live on on a shoestring in Beijing.

In March 2001, Mr. Liu was arrested by officers from the Haidian Police Department, Beijing. He was sentenced to two years of forced labour at the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp, Beijing, until March 2003.

In 2005, Mr. Liu gave lectures to MBA classes at Beijing Technology University. He also created a cultural development company. On September 3th, 2005, he was arrested by officers from the Zhongguancun Police Station of Haidian Police Department, and then taken to Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. After being tortured for one month, Mr. Liu managed to escape.

Mr. Liu was brutally beaten by the police. When they arrested him the second time, they throttled his neck until he nearly suffocated right in front of his wife. His wife's day to day routine was interrupted. She suffered quite a lot mentally.

On December 4th, 2008, Mr. Liu was arrested by officers from the Zhongguancun Police Station for a third time. Practitioner Ms. Cong Dawei and her daughter Zhang Ziwei were arrested at the same time. Two policemen beat Ms. Cong outside her building. Mr. Liu tried to stop them. That brought four policemen who began beating him. At that time, Mr. Liu's mother was sick and in a hospital. He planned to visit her during the Chinese New Year, but the arrest made his trip impossible.

Mr. Liu held a hunger strike to protest. He was taken to Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp on February 28th, 2009. He was imprisoned at the Second Squadron of the First Division there.

Mr. Liu has been savagely force-fed several times. Doctors from Gaoyang County Hospital used long pliers with sharp tip to pry Mr. Liu's mouth open and then push the feeding tube through his throat or nose. The force-feeding loosened his teeth, tore the corner of his lip, the inside of his mouth, his throat and oesophagus, and caused his nose to bleed profusely. His wrists were bleeding and both hands swelled due to being handcuffed. During the force-feeding, his face was covered with blood and he lost consciousness several times. He is extremely weak.

We are appealing to all kind and just people to help Mr. Liu Yujian and stop the persecution.
