Ms. Zhu Xixian, over 50 years old, is a practitioner from Pingjiang County, Hunan Province. Since last year, she has been arrested and detained by the police twice, and each time she was persecuted to the brink of death. Ms. Zhu was able to flee to freedom, but now she is forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Zhu Xixian is from Jinsha Village, Cenchuan Town, Pingjiang County. She started practising Falun Gong in 2004. On the night of March 11th, 2008, over ten police officers from the Pingjiang County Domestic Security Division and Cenchuan Town Police Station and personnel from the Cenchuan Town government broke into and ransacked Ms. Zhu's home. As soon as the police broke in, they shut off the lights, instead using torches to overturn everything in her home. They confiscated Falun Gong articles and books. The persecution by the police forced Ms. Zhu to leave home.

In June 2008, Ms. Zhu was arrested at the Huaqiao Village, Fanjiayuan Town, Miluo City by police from the Dajing Police Station in Miluo City. The police confiscated over 5,000 yuan1, a new mobile phone, a phone card, an MP3 player and a purse that Ms. Zhu carried at the time. The total value of the belongings was 7,700 yuan, none of which was returned.

While Ms. Zhu Xixian was detained at the Miluo Detention Centre, she developed high blood pressure and severe symptoms of heart disease due to the persecution. She was taken to a hospital for diagnosis and the doctors thought that she had serious coronary disease and that she may lose her life at any moment. On the way back to the detention centre, the guards told the police department chief, "We can't accept this person. If anything happens, you have to bear the responsibility." However, the detention centre still detained Ms. Zhu.

Ms. Zhu was detained at the Miluo Detention Centre for 18 days. She did not eat for 7 of those days. Afterwards, she was taken to the Pingjiang Detention Centre for 4 days. When the police from the Pingjiang County Domestic Security Division came to interrogate Ms. Zhu, she had passed out. A woman in the same cell told the guards to quickly contact her family members. The police officer conducting the interrogation, Fang Huanglu, said, "If she dies, then she dies. We'll make a phone call and tell her family to claim the dead body."

Ms. Zhu Xixiang was in a coma for 8 hours. While she was in critical condition, the police had a meeting to discuss her release, but before that they planned to extort a large amount of money from her family. The police told her family members that they had to provide 60,000 yuan for Ms. Zhu's release. After arguing with the police, 20,000 yuan was still extorted from them before Ms. Zhu was released. A few days later, Ms. Zhu's son took her to Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.

On March 8th, 2009, Ms. Zhu was arrested by police from the Yuehai Police Station in Shenzhen City while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. On the eighth day of her detention, Mao Baifan and someone surnamed Xu, both from the Domestic Security Division in Pingjiang County, and Jiang Hong from Cenchuan Town took Ms. Zhu from the Yuehai Police Station back to Pingjiang County.

On the train, Ms. Zhu Xixiang was able to break free and escape. Currently she does not dare to return home. Personnel from the Pingjiang County Domestic Security Division are still searching for her.
