Mr. Liu Longyun, Mr. Zhu Zhaojie, Mr. Zhu Mingchun, Ms. Que Faxiu, and Ms. Guo Guangxiu, all practitioners from Miyi County, Sichuan Province, were arrested by officers from the Miyi County Police Station on November 3rd, 2002, and held until November 5th, 2002. On November 17th, 2002, the Miyi County Procuratorate and Miyi County Court conspired to sentence the five practitioners. So far, only one has been released. The other four are still in prison and have become disabled due to persecution in prison.

Mr. Liu Longyun, a farmer, was born on February 22nd, 1973. He lived in Shuitang Village, Panlian Town, Miyi County. Mr. Liu was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison. He is now detained at Wumaping Prison, Muchuan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. His rib was broken and he is now disabled.

Mr. Zhu Zhaojie, self-employed, was born on December 9th, 1954. He lived at Tiejian Village 9-36, Panlian Town, Miyi County. He was sentenced to nine years in prison and is now in Wumaping Prison, Muchuan County, Leshan City. He has become disabled.

Mr. Zhu Mingchun, a physician, was born on November 28th, 1961. He lived at Nanjie 71-64, Panlian Town, Miyi County. He was sentenced to eight years in prison. Because he escaped on the way to the prison and later was arrested again, his prison term was lengthened by one and a half years by the judge and judicial officers at the Miyi County Court on April 6th, 2004. His total prison term is nine and a half years. He is now in Wumaping Prison, Muchuan County. He has also became disabled due to persecution in prison.

Ms. Que Faxiu, a rural worker, was born on February 10th, 1966. She lived at Shuitang Village, Panlian Town, Miyi County. Que Faxiu was sentenced to eight years in prison and is now in Longquanyi Women's Prison, Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Ms. Guo Guangxiu, a rural worker, was born on November 29th, 1981. She lived at Shanhou Village, Shaba, Miyi County. She was sentenced to seven years in prison. She was detained at Longquanyi Women's Prison, Chengdu. She has since been released.

At the time of sentencing, all the practitioners except Mr. Liu Longyun had hired lawyers or had lawyers assigned to them. None of the lawyers entered a plea of "not guilty" for their clients. The practitioners attempted to enter their own "not guilty" pleas, but the judge and the court officials stopped them. When Mr. Zhu Mingchun read his plea, the judge did not allow his defence. A court police officer confiscated the documentation for his plea. The practitioners were also banned from reviewing the court records, and, there were no signatures obtained from the parties involved. However, the court records were used as the basis to sentence all of the practitioners.
