Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Miao Tianzeng from Tieshan Town, Jiaonan City, Shandong Province, was arrested by police in May 2008. He was sentenced to four years imprisonment in Jinan City Prison. This was the second time that Mr. Miao was jailed. He had been previously sentenced to four years imprisonment in 2001 and was cruelly tortured in Weibei Prison, Shandong Province.

Mr. Miao's mother worried about her son and cried so much that she almost lost her eyesight. She also suffered from gastric perforation. Mr. Miao's father said, "My son just wanted to practise Falun Gong and to be a good person, why did the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecute him?!"

Mr. Miao Tianzeng, 33, was first arrested by the Huangdao Police Department in 2001 because he accessed the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). At that time, he was sentenced to four years in prison and was taken to Weibei Prison in Shandong Province, where he was cruelly persecuted. The prison guards forced Falun Gong practitioners to write so-called "monthly thought reports," they used electric batons to shock those who refused to follow their orders, and they increased the charge of the electrical batons, using them on practitioners until they could no longer move.

In December 2005, Mr. Miao was released. He found a job in the Huangdao Development District and he continued to practise Falun Gong. On May 7th, 2008, when Mr. Miao was renting a car to transport Falun Gong materials, he was arrested by police from the Changjiang Road Police Station in the Huangdao District. He was secretly sentenced to four years imprisonment by the Qingdao City Court and is being persecuted at Jinan City Prison, Shandong Province.
