Three Family Members Arrested and Detained; Four-Year-Old Deprived of Her Mother

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Yin Xunzhen, Ms. Xu Shujie and Ms. Yin Qi were arrested in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province and were arrested for four months. They have still not been released. The police have now submitted these cases to the courts for further persecution.

Lin Weijia, Yin Qi's four-year old daughter, misses her mother every day since she was arrested. Every time she sees her mother's picture or the two Chinese characters meaning "Mother," her eyes fill with tears. She even asked, "Will Mum come home after I die?"

It has been reported that Ms. Yin Qi has been suffering a torture called "Driving the Train" in the detention centre. This torture involves binding both legs and arms together for ten days continuously.

Mr. Yin Xunzhen and Ms. Xu Shujie are retirees from Fangzheng Forest Industry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province. In the Spring of 2009, they went to Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province to visit their daughter Ms. Yin Qi. Their son-in-law, Mr. Lin Fengbin, is an engineer at the Zhuhai Branch of the Guangyu Company, and Ms. Yin Qi is an administrative manager at a company. They are a young couple with upright characters and are both successful professionals. On the night of April 10th, 2009, police broke into their home and arrested Mr. Yin Xunzhen, Ms. Xu Shujie, Ms. Yin Qi, and Mr. Lin Fengbing. Later, Mr. Lin Fengbin was released. Mr. Yin Xunzhen was sent to Doumen No. 3 Detention Centre. Ms. Xu Shujie and her daughter Ms. Yin Qi were detained at the Doumen No. 2 Detention Centre.

At present, their family has hired a defence lawyer, who met with Ms. Yin Qi on August 6th, 2009. It is expected that their case will be handed over to the court in about ten days.
