On August 15 2009, Falun Gong practitioners in Switzerland held a Falun Gong Information Day in Bern, the capital, exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong. At the same time, they called for an immediate end to the persecution.
At Congress Square downtown, practitioners set up a booth and put up banners that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong. They placed information materials in different languages on the table. Many people who passed by either stopped to read the display boards on or took flyers and newspapers to read later. Some asked for more information and some signed the petition to express their support for the practitioners' effort of protesting the persecution.

Upon seeing pictures exposing the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, a Swedish-Chinese person was appalled and asked, "Are these [photos] true?" A practitioner replied, "Yes, they are true." He then explained the facts in detail, referring to the investigation report by David Kilgour, a former Member of Parliament and a former Secretary of State of the Government of Canada for the Asia Pacific region and David Matas, an international human rights lawyer. The report documents evidence that the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners is true. The report stated: "[They] represent a grotesque form of evil which, despite all the depravations humanity has seen, would be new to this planet."
This Chinese person said indignantly, "What the CCP does is even more cruel than the Japanese who conducted experiments on Chinese prisoners using bacteria to create biological weapons." The practitioner said, "At that time, it was foreigners that killed Chinese, but now the CCP is killing people in China." The Chinese said, "This is as evil as Hitler who initiated genocide against the Jews during World War II."
While the practitioner asked him if he was a member of the CCP or its associated organisations, he said, "I am very fortunate for not growing up in China, so I don't have this problem. You Falun Gong are doing a really good job and I wish you success!"
That day, four people from China quit the CCP and its associated organisations. Two of them are sister and brother. They said, "Chinese people now have no freedom. We are now abroad and feel free. We do admire you overseas Chinese. You Falun Gong practitioners can freely do the exercises and hold events, but who dares to do so in China?"
The were not official Party members but they readily agreed to quit the CCP's affiliated organisations such as the Youth League and Young Pioneers.
A middle-aged woman from South Korea who settled in Switzerland came to the booth. She said, "It is really cruel and terrifying. But why does the CCP want to persecute you?" A practitioner told her, "It was because there were 100 million of people practising Falun Gong, which is more than there are members of the Communist Party. In 1999, the then CCP head Jiang Zemin grew jealous of Falun Gong's popularity and irrationally launched the crackdown."
The practitioner also told her that many people in South Korea practise Falun gong. She was surprised at this but seemed very happy. Finally, the practitioner said, "Recently three Falun Gong practitioners who applied for asylum in South Korea were deported to China by the Government of South Korea. This is a real shame. These practitioners will very likely suffer persecution and even face the risk of losing their lives when they are back in China. Please call on your government to stop deporting Falun Gong practitioners." The woman nodded her head repeatedly in agreement.
