On August 15th 2009, when the week-long 19th annual Gothenburg Culture Festival was about to come to an end, Falun Gong practitioners in Sweden held a large parade to demonstrate the beauty of Falun Gong and expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) ten years of persecution against the practice.
The second largest city in Sweden, Gothenburg is a picturesque seaside town and also one of Sweden's tourist hotspots. Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world travel here each year. The local people are warm and kindhearted.

The European Divine Land Marching Band also participated in the festival for the first time, demonstrating the beauty of Falun Gong through music. Their performance attracted a huge crowd despite the intermittent rain.
The colourful Falun Gong parade added brilliance to the festival. Many people took photos and asked for materials. A few gentlemen raised their right hands to salute the parade. The group met with warm welcomes wherever it went.

A middle-aged gentleman said, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great! More people should follow these principles in life." Some even joined the parade on their own. Following the lively beats of the band and with smiles on their faces, they marched in step on the busiest streets in Gothenburg. Forgetting he had a large bag on his back, an elderly gentleman followed the parade for a long time. He said cheerfully, "I just love Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I will support you forever."
A young girl who came from China to go to school in Sweden stood for a long time at the event venue. Practitioners spent a lot of time answering her questions. They explained in detail the truth about the CCP-fabricated "Self-immolation incident" at Tiananmen Square and the CCP's atrocities of organ harvesting from living practitioners. Two practitioners who were persecuted in Chinese labour camps recounted their personal experiences of being tortured. They also told her about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and how millions in China are quitting the CCP.
The girl was a member of the Communist Youth League. She hesitated to renounce her membership in the organisation right away, but she said she would find the website for quitting the CCP. When the event was about to end, a practitioner went over to her and said, "Don't forget to renounce the Party on the Epoch Times' website. If you do not, we will worry about you!" The girl seemed moved by the practitioner's thoughtfulness said, "Then please help me to quit right now!" Finally, she thanked the practitioners and left.
A university professor who wished to remain anonymous was a China expert who often published articles. Seeing the Falun Gong activity in the rain with her family, she was deeply moved. When the event was about to finish, she found the event organiser to schedule a meeting to talk more about Falun Gong.
