On September 11th, 2009, officers from the Chaoyang Police Station in Beijing went to Ms. Qing Xiuying's office and seized her. She was later sentenced to two years at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp. Guards at the forced labour camp have tortured her to try to get her to give up Falun Gong, subjecting her to sleep deprivation, solitary confinement, and denying her use of the toilet.

The last time her family went to visit her, she was very skinny and had dropped more than ten kilograms (approximately 22 lbs.) of weight. Ms. Qing told them, "The forced labour camp tortured me to try to force me to 'transform.' [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] I was not allowed to use the toilet. Now I have bad kidneys and often urinate blood."

Ms. Qing protested the persecution by going on a hunger strike, and the labour camp guards brutally force-fed her. Now she is emaciated and has dropped another five kilograms. Placed under tremendous mental pressure, she now often laughs and shouts uncontrollably. She has developed mental disorders due to the torture she has suffered.

She started to practise Falun Gong in 1997, and her breast cancer was cured. Her husband is handicapped, and now there is no one to take care of him.
