Spain's National Court launched a lawsuit against Jang Zemin and other prime culprits who persecute Falun Gong and have committed crimes of "genocide" and "the crime of torture". G. H. Beauthier, an international leading human rights lawyer from Belgium, recently said: “We are building an international net of justice, and going to do it step by step until these Chinese Communist Party officials who have committed crimes against humanity are eventually brought to justice.”

Together with international lawyers, Mr Beauthier successfully brought former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet to court. On the case of the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, he said,:”I am very pleased to see such a result. This shows everything is moving forward in the right direction. There are enough legal provisions to prosecute these criminals. These people in China have not been brought to justice so we can use the 'the principles of universal jurisdiction' in Europe for the prosecution. The Spanish court's decision could strengthen the 'the principles of universal jurisdiction' to target those crimes committed against Falun Gong."

"Now the Chinese authorities must respond to this case, but we know that they will not respond. The Spanish court is currently waiting, and it will then initiate judicial proceedings, effectively arresting and extraditing those Chinese officials."

Mr Beauthier said, "At present, Europe's lawyers are forming a team and learning from each other's experiences. We are operating an international judicial network, implementing it in European countries, as we have done for the Falun Gong practitioners, and establishing a broad co-operation system that lets Chinese leaders realise that, a trip to European will be dreadful.”

A few years ago, Mr Beauthier acted as a lawyer responsible for the case of telephone harassment of local Falun Gong practitioners committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 610 Office. At present, a Belgian court order demanding an investigation of this case is still in progress. He hoped that one day, those CCP officials responsible will be convicted.
Finally, Mr Beauthier said: "We are continuing to do this step by step. One day, we can successfully determine these CCP Chinese officials are criminals against humanity."
