On May 20, 2010, the opening ceremony for the International Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition in Brighton, UK was held. Mayor Geoff Wells came to cut the ribbon for the ceremony. He was impressed with the paintings and spent nearly three hours viewing the artwork. Other visitors to the exhibition included the dean of the School of Art, University of Brighton, and some well-known soccer players. The exhibition will continue until July 11.

The International Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition has been held in more than 200 cities worldwide. The paintings are by artists who practice Falun Gong. The exhibition features 42 paintings on righteous belief and cultivation, the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China, and practitioners' uncompromising courage in the face of the persecution. Many of the pieces have received awards in international art exhibitions.

Mayor Geoff Wells was touched by the paintings. He viewed the artwork carefully and listened to the guide explain the background behind each one. He also shared his thoughts with others. After posing for a group photo with the organisers and exhibition staff, he returned to view the paintings. When closing time came, other visitors left reluctantly, but the mayor had not finished viewing the artworks, so he and a few others were allowed to stay. The scheduled closing time was 8:30 p.m., but it was 10:00 p.m. by the time everyone left.

One exhibition organiser, Joy, told the correspondent that she was happy to see that the mayor and other visitors appreciated the exhibition. The mayor said he would recommend the exhibition to people he knew and would bring his wife to view the paintings.

Based on feedback Joy received from guests, she said that the visitors were moved by the compassion depicted in the paintings.
