Poland's three harbour cities of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia are close enough to each other that they are often referred to as the tri-city area. Important harbour cities, they are also popular tourist destinations. On August 7, 2010, Falun Dafa practitioners from all over the country joined local practitioners in the tri-city area for two days of activities.
On the morning of Saturday August 7, practitioners began by setting up a display on the beach in Sopot. They hung a banner reading "Falun Dafa is good" and set up a tent and table to collect petition signatures. Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises with the beautiful Falun Gong exercise music in the background, while others passed out flyers and answered questions. Many people stopped to watch the exercises, take flyers, and learn about the persecution in China. Many visitors signed a petition condemning CCP atrocities in the persecution.
In the afternoon, practitioners went to Gdansk to demonstrate and teach the exercises in Oliwa Park. This is the regular group practice site for local practitioners. Many residents learned about the special activity online, so quite a large group came to learn.
On the next morning, practitioners returned to the park again for a second class. Many people were first-time learners. They learned the exercises carefully and asked many questions. The practitioners recommended that they read the introductory book Falun Gong and the main text of Falun Dafa practice Zhuan Falun, and that they could find the answers to many of their questions there.
On Sunday afternoon, the group protested peacefully in front of the Chinese Consulate in Gdansk, calling for justice and conscience, and asking people to support efforts to end the persecution. Many drivers sounded their car horns in support as they passed by. The practitioners said that if the officials in the consulate had seen how people are learning Falun Gong in the park, they'd understand the persecution is doomed to fail.
