Ms. Wang Xiuhua made a living operating a day care centre that she owned. All the parents and children loved her. She once explained the facts about Falun Gong to the children in November 2005, and gave them Falun Gong keepsakes as reminders. A parent reported what she had done, and the Domestic Security put her in custody for 24 hours.
Along with four fellow practitioners, Ms. Wang went to pass out Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution in Yuhuzhai Township early on the morning of May 14th, 2006. They were arrested by Qianxi County Domestic Security officers, and detained in Qianxi County Detention Centre. The Qianxi County Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Political and Judiciary Committee forced the County Education Bureau to close her day care, despite the pleas of the parents and children to keep the centre open.
The Qianxi County Procuratorate arrested her for the sentencing on June 15th, 2006. Ms. Wang and four other practitioners were all forcibly given blood tests, and had photos taken. There was insufficient evidence in the trials on September 6th, November 3rd and 10th, 2009. Her health suddenly worsened during the third trial, and she was allowed to leave the court on medical parole.
Ms. Wang was chatting with her downstairs neighbour on the evening of March 8th, 2008. Officer He Liansuo, from Qianxi County Domestic Security Division and two other officers suddenly came and searched her then they took her to the Division office. They took turns slapping her 60 times, causing her mouth to bleed and her face to become swollen and deformed. They took her pocket money, and her Falun Gong badge. They then ransacked her home, including the room she rents to other people. Finally, they took her child's school computer, more than 100 yuan1 cash, and Falun Gong materials.
At noon on July 29th, 2008, right before the Beijing Olympics, Qianxi County Domestic Security Division chief Liu Jinying arrested Ms. Wang at her home under the excuse of Olympic security. They detained her for about 60 days, then secretly sentenced her to three years in prison, with five years probation. Her term had not ended when she passed away on August 24th, 2010.
