Ms. Run went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. She was arrested and sent to Qinghe County Prison in Beijing. Ms. Run refused to report her name to the prison, and her hands were stepped on and kicked until they were black and blue by a police officer who was called the “Section chief.” During her imprisonment, her home was ransacked by the police, who took all of her Falun Gong books. Five days later, Ms. Run was taken to the Jilin Detention Centre by the Jilin police stationed in Beijing, and she spent fifteen days there.

The second time she went to Beijing to appeal, she was sent to the Zhanqian Police Station in Beijing, and was later sent to the Jilin Detention Centre for fifteen days.

The third time she went to Beijing to appeal, she was arrested and spent four days at the Tianjin Prison for Women.

In 2000, Ms. Run was arrested by police from the Xinjilin Police Station because she hung up a “Falun Gong Is Good” banner. The police from the Xinjilin Police Station and the Longtan Police Department branch office sent Ms. Run to Jilin Detention Centre No. 1 for one month. Ms. Run was once arrested by police from the Shanqian Police Station of Jilin when she was handing out leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to the public. She was later sent to the Xinjilin Police Station for three days, and the station chief himself interrogated her. The police from the Shanqian Police Station ransacked her home.

In November 2002, Ms. Run was arrested by a police officer named “Xiao Su” along with the chairman of her neighbourhood committee, and was sent to the Jinzhu Brainwashing Centre for eleven days. She was arrested again later and sent to a brainwashing centre for six days.

In the middle of the night on April 27th, 2004, police from the Xinjilin Police Station ransacked her home.

In July 2009, the police from the Xinjilin Police Station arrested Ms. Run again, and sent her to Heizuizi Prison for Women in Changchun. The prison would not accept Ms. Run because she did not pass the physical exam. In September 2009, a police officer with the last name Lu and Xu from Xinjilin Police Station and two others from Ms. Run's neighbourhood committee, went to Ms. Run's home and harassed her.

In the middle of September 2009, the new director of the Xinjilin Police Station led a group of officers to Mr. Lin Qing and his wife Ms. Run Weirong's home, and arrested Mr. Lin. Ms. Run had lost her eyesight, and was left home alone after police ransacked her home.

Ms. Run endured tremendous pressure and suffered both physically and mentally for more than ten years, and as a result she lost her eyesight and passed away in October 2010.
