The Art of Truth, Compassion, Tolerance Exhibition started a two-week run in the city of Naousa of Central Macedonia, Greece on Saturday October 15th.
The exhibition consists of paintings by Chinese artists who started the exhibition to raise awareness about the genocide against Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese communist regime.
Falun Gong is a spiritual practice based in the principles: ''Truth, Compassion, Tolerance''. The practice was very popular in China after its launch in 1992 until 1999 when the communist regime started to persecute practitioners largely due to the practice's popularity.
Some of the paintings depict torture methods used against Falun Gong practitioners who have been imprisoned in forced labour camps and detention centres. Exhibition visitors said they were shocked by the pain the victims are suffering in these paintings. At the same time they felt admiration and some were moved to tears by the peaceful response of practitioners in the face of such violence.
Some visitors to the exhibition left comments, which included:
"Thank you for revealing the universe in my soul, mind and eyes."
"Meeting with knowledge makes us stronger."
"Thanks for your efforts to make a better world."
