Ms. Ye Yingchun, Mr. Chen Jianguo, and Mr. Huang Shengwei Sentenced to Forced Labour

Three Falun Gong practitioners from Guangdong Province—Mr. Huang Shengwei, Ms. Ye Yingchun and Mr. Chen Jianguo—were sentenced to Guangdong's Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in September.

Police from the Haifeng National Security Division and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Shanwei, Guangdong, in collusion with the Haifeng Police Station, broke into the home of Ms. Ye Yingchun at around 3:00 p.m. on August 20th. Ms. Ye is a teacher at the Haifeng Elementary School. The police arrested her as well as Mr. Chen Jianguo, who had been chatting with Ms. Ye. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a few dozen Falun Gong books, a recorder, a mobile phone, a bank deposit certificate worth more than 1,000 yuan1, and the title to her home. Police also ransacked Mr. Chen’s home.

When Mr. Huang Shengwei visited Ms. Ye’s home that afternoon, he was arrested by Assistant Chief Lu and other officers from the Xinyuan Police Station. Huang Handai from Chengqu Police Station, Ou Wenwei, Huang Chongbiao, and other officers broke into and ransacked Mr. Huang’s home. Mr. Huang lives in Huoshunshang Village in Chengqu. Police took his computer, a few dozen Falun Gong books, and 1,000 yuan.

Ms. Ye Yingchun and Mr. Chen Jianguo were each sentenced to two years of forced labour, she in Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp and he in Sanshui Baoyue Farm Forced Labour Camp.

Mr. Huang Shengwei was held in Chengqu's detention centre for a month. During that time, his family was not allowed to visit him. He was sentenced to two years of forced labour without having given a confession. He was taken to Sanshui Forced Labour Camp on September 30th. His current health and status are unknown.
