Sixty-year-old Mr. Liu Ruxing was from Longxi County, Gansu Province. Due to the long-term persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), he passed away at home on December 25th. Mr. Liu was sentenced to forced labour camp for two years and sentenced to three years of imprisonment.

Mr. Liu was formerly employed at Northwest Aluminium Processing Factory in Longxi County. After he started practising Falun Gong, he followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a better person and benefited both spiritually and physically. After the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Liu was persecuted both mentally and financially by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police department. He was arrested and his house was ransacked.

Mr. Liu was detained for one month in January 2001. He was also held in the brainwashing centre at the Longxi County Detention Centre for four months. Mr. Liu was again arrested in July 2003 from home by Song Jianhua, the team leader from Longxi County Domestic Security Division, and security guards from the security division at Northwest Aluminium Processing Factory. Mr. Liu was sentenced to two years at Gansu Province First Forced Labour Camp.

On the morning of August 24th, 2007, Mr. Liu was arrested by agents from the Longxi County Domestic Security Division and Northwest Aluminium Processing Factory. His house was ransacked. His personal belongings such as Falun Gong books, and materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong were taken. Those participating in the arrest were Lu Dechang and Wang Jun from Longxi County Domestic Security Division and Gong Wenzhi from the Northwest Aluminium Processing Factory. Mr. Liu was sentenced to three years of imprisonment at Tianshui Prison.

Even though Mr. Liu had been released from prison, the persecution continued, traumatising him both physically and mentally. He lost his job and financial security. Right before he passed away, he was constantly harassed and approached for “conversations” by agents from the local 610 Office and the factory's security personnel.

Many practitioners from Northwest Aluminium Processing Factory have been persecuted by the CCP Mr. Bi Wenming, 34, was arrested in February 2002 and sentenced to three years of imprisonment in Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou. He was transferred to Dingxi Prison in 2004 and was tortured to death there on September 3rd, 2004. Mr. Bi's parents-in-law were harassed and threatened multiple times at home by Song Jianhua, the team leader from Longxi County Domestic Security Division. Mr. Bi's mother-in-law passed away in January 2002 and his father-in-law passed away on September 30th, 2004.
