Police Arrest a Dutiful Daughter and a Benevolent Couple

In the Dadong District of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, the police recently arrested a dutiful daughter, leaving her disabled mother without care. Another couple was also arrested, leaving their son to live alone.

Dutiful Daughter Arrested--Disabled Mother Left Without Care

When Ms. Zhang Qiuping, a Falun Gong practitioner in the Dadong District of Shenyang City, went to visit a friend on April 15th 2012, the police arrested her for no reason. She is now in a detention centre in Shenyang City. Her 75-year-old mother is handicapped and cannot take care of herself properly, but is now on her own. She is waiting anxiously for her daughter to come home.

Ms. Zhang, 39, has been practising Falun Gong for 15 years, and has become more modest, amiable, and compassionate. She was reported to the police by people unaware of the truth in 2003 because she distributed CDs with information about Falun Gong. Later she was put in the Woman’s Prison of Liaoning Province. Her elderly father went to to visit her, but he had a car accident en route and broke a vertebra in his back. Unfortunately the surgery to repair the vertebra failed and he passed away.

Ms. Zhang later lived with her mother in order to take care of her. Her mother suffered from diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, and other diseases for many years. Her toes and feet were all completely ulcerated, with only the heel recognizable. She could hardly take care of herself. Since her daughter's arrest, life has been very hard for her, and she cries her eyes out every day. We call for help to rescue Zhang Qiuping so that she can return home to help her mother.

Benevolent Couple Arrested, Leaving Their Lonely Son Uncared For

After 7:00 a.m. on April 15th, Ms. Cheng Yufeng, a Falun Gong practitioner in the Dadong District, was preparing breakfast for the family. Seven or eight officers from a state security team and the Dadong Police Station in Shenyang broke into their house and arrested Ms. Chen and her husband, Mr. Liu Huayu, along with another lady, Liang Qizhen. Their personal property, including a computer, was taken. Ms. Chen was placed in the Shenyang Detention Centre and Mr. Liu was held in the Dadong District Detention Centre.

The couple have practised Falun Gong for more than ten years. Falun Gong brought good fortune to this family. Mr. Liu, who once had to rely on medicine, had become healthy and energetic. Ms. Chen became more kind and helpful. However, the couple ended up in prison several times due to the persecution. They were often separated, and the family became very poor. They both have been arrested at the same time. Their son now is living at home alone.
